9th Annual Jimmy Jam BBQ Slam

Outstanding BBQ competition, classic cars, cornhole championships, live music, arts and crafts – this event has it all!

Outstanding BBQ competition, classic cars, cornhole championships, live music, arts and crafts – this event has it all! Plus, every dollar raised goes to meet the needs of local people who deserve a helping hand. Food, fun and public service make The Jimmy Jam BBQ Slam one of the most popular events in the area.

Endorsed by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, the competition takes place in three categories

People’s Choice: Free to enter, participants prepare People’s Choice entry meats prior to arrival at the contest. Entries will be served from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. The big winner receives $500, plus a trophy. (Cash awards to places second thru fifth as well.)

Chicken Wings, Dessert and/or Bloody Mary Contest: $25 entry fee. Contestants enter either 12 wings, a minimum eight-ounce Bloody Mary or a six-piece dessert. First place wins $500 and trophy. Cash awards to the competitors who finish second thru fifth.

Kids’ Competition: $25 entry fee. Open to competitors ages 4-15. Adults may light the fire, but each child must prepare/cook a pork loin unassisted. Prize amounts to be determined.

Cornhole and Vendors

Cornhole Competition: Registration begins at 10 a.m. ($40 entry fee per team) and the tournament starts promptly at 11 a.m.

In addition to the cooking and cornhole competitions, more than 50 arts and crafts and food vendors will be featured throughout the event.

Car Show

Categories include Classic, Truck and Motorcycle. Trophies awarded in each category. Entry fee is $20 ($25 day of show).

Admission to the Jimmy Jam BBQ Slam is $10 (free for ages 10 and under) FREE parking. Gates open at 10 a.m.

The St. Johns County Fairgrounds are located at 5840 SR 207, in Elkton, FL
