Music Festivals
Florida’s Historic Coast is a Hotbed for All Kinds of Music Festivals
If there’s an open field or a pavilion on the beach, there’s probably a festival taking place.
This annual festival combines history, faith and food to create a flavorful salute to St. Augustine’s enduring Greek heritage.
Want to be Greek for a day? This weekend festival is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to learn about Greek culture while enjoying delicious food and entertainment. Highlights include:
Enjoy performances by regional Greek dance troupes happening at 1:30 and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Greek dancers will even offer folk dance lessons. And the sounds of DJ Taki Entertainment will surround you throughout the day.
Break bread with traditional and authentic Greek dishes like gyros, souvlaki, and baklava, grilled lamb on the spit. There will also be a variety of Greek drinks available, including ouzo lemonade and Greek frappes. Homemade baked goods and other dishes available in the community hall are perfect for taking home. Check out the menu here.
Find unique gifts, Greek wares and handcrafted goods and souvenirs from local artists and artisans in the marketplace.
The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church is open for tours during the festival. You can learn about the history of the church and the Greek Orthodox faith.
There will be a variety of children's activities available at the festival, including face painting, games, and crafts.
On Sunday, the public is invited to participate in ecclesiastical services beginning at 8:30 a.m. with the festival continuing until 4 p.m.
The popular Taverna with food, music, children’s games and tours takes place Saturday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.
The best part is, while you’re having all the fun, the St. Augustine Greek Festival is providing a portion of the event proceeds to support the Homeless Coalition of St. Johns County, the local non-profit agency offering transitional and permanent affordable housing to families who have encountered difficult times and are in crisis.
Admission to the festival at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church located on 2940 County Road 214 is FREE. Check here for the latest details on events.
