Music Festivals
Florida’s Historic Coast is a Hotbed for All Kinds of Music Festivals
If there’s an open field or a pavilion on the beach, there’s probably a festival taking place.
From intimate cafés to world-class stages, the music scene is alive year round.
You can see its white peaks poking out from a sea of green trees from as far away as the 312 Bridge. The St. Augustine Amphitheatre, better known locally as The Amp, is one of the best places to hear live music in the country. Pollstar Magazine consistently ranks it among the top outdoor venues worldwide drawing internationally-renowned performers from all genres of music. With just under 5,000 seats, The Amp offers concert-goers a more relaxed vibe and a perfect setting for what feels more like an outdoor party with friends and family. The Amp is also home to two additional outdoor stages The Backyard and The Front Porch that welcome local and regional musicians and host various live community events throughout the year.
If you find yourself walking along St. George Street downtown, you’re bound to hear some live music emanating from the Colonial Oak Music Park. Follow your ears to this intimate park setting under an enormous, live oak tree decorated with lanterns. Take a seat at one of the open tables and relax with a brew as some of the best local and regional bands take the stage. You just might find yourself dancing in the aisles before long.
Head north on scenic A1A for one of the finest little gems of the music world. The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall was once a church but now attracts those who worship all kinds of music, from rock to blues to country and even comedy acts from around the world.
There’s nothing quite like The Original Café Eleven on Beach Boulevard. A local favorite for its great food and happy hour, the café is also host to some well-known bands and comedy acts. If you like the feeling of being in an intimate music club, this is the place for you.
New to the music scene but not to the area, The Waterworks is a unique venue listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1898, today it hosts a concert series of performers and folk groups celebrating the music and memory of local legend Gamble Rogers.
