Save the date for the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center's Juneteenth Celebration! Celebrate the jubilations of Juneteenth this year with the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center! They are preparing a full weekend of live performances, lectures and a heritage banquet to honor the memory of freedom fighters from all centuries of American history! Thursday, June 15, 4-5:30 p.m. | Celebrate Juneteenth: “Respect: Soul Music and the Civil Rights Movement” - Kick off the Juneteenth Celebration weekend with John Capouya in learning about the inspiring soul artists who assisted in the Civil Rights Movement! Free event, open to the public.
Thursday, June 15, 7-9 p.m. | Celebrate Juneteenth: Smooth Jazz with Marcus Click - Marcus Click, a talented saxophonist, is an artist you do not want to miss! Inspired by jazz greats such as Kirk Whalum, Grover Washington, Jr. and George Howard, Marcus Click was named the Artist Music Guild’s Instrumentalist of the Year in 2019. Tickets are $25.
Friday, June 16, 7-9 p.m. | Juneteenth Festival: The Mahøgånëë Xperīence - A music, art and Gullah Geechee cultural experience with Lowcountry recording artist, Mahoganee. Tickets are $30.
Saturday, June 17, 7-9 p.m. | Juneteenth Festival: Grammy Winner Dom Flemons Live at Waterworks - Join the acclaimed Dom Flemons, co-founder of the Carolina Chocolate Drops as he performs with the band Bad Dog Mama. Tickets are $25-$50.
Sunday, June 18, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. | Juneteenth Festival: Heritage Brunch featuring Longineu Parsons - Get in the spirit with Dr. Longineu Parsons II, international trumpeter, and Master Musician. Enjoy a brunch of downhome delicacies catered by Heart & SoulFood in the Excelsior Room of the historic Lincolnville Museum & Cultural Center. Tickets are $55 and include brunch.
