Author Martin Dobrow discusses his newest book, Original City, Original Sin, at The Waterworks, exploring St. Augustine’s complex Civil Rights history and the people and events that shaped the city. The book traces St. Augustine’s history from its early connections to slavery and the nation’s first legally sanctioned free Black community to the pivotal Civil Rights demonstrations of 1964 involving Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Ku Klux Klan and local activists.
