You’ll find stunning architecture, quaint brick lined streets that meander past eclectic shops, fascinating museums and sidewalk cafes and beautiful unspoiled beaches. Whether you are a romantic looking for a breathtaking view to enjoy with your sweetheart, an explorer looking for unusual points of view or simply want to enjoy the sights, here are a few of the best scenic views on Florida’s Historic Coast.

The Castillo de San Marcos is a 300 plus year old fort that delivers panoramic views of the Bayfront, Atlantic Ocean, the Intracoastal water way and the historic district.

See the sun set and the moon rise from the top of the St. Augustine Lighthouse. Each month the lighthouse holds a romantic event under the stars with a champagne toast.

Enjoy local wines and cocktails while you gaze at the St. Augustine skyline from the San Sebastian Winery rooftop.

The pristine natural beaches stretch for miles in Ponte Vedra Beach. Take a beach walk at sunrise or sunset as the waves slide onto shore. Hike any of the 9 miles of trails at the Guana Tolomato Research Reserve (GTM). This dynamic, ever changing place has many interconnected habitats from the ocean to the forests. The landscape protects and provides for a great diversity of plants and animals.

Take a walk, and a fishing pole, at the St. Johns County Ocean and Fishing Pier. The view of the beaches stretches for miles. Watch the surfers and kayakers. You can see shrimp boats on their way out to sea, dolphins, and if you are lucky, the North Atlantic Right Whales migrating to the south in the winter.
