(March 8, 2023) –St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra Beach and the surrounding area, known as Florida’s Historic Coast have been nationally recognized as one of the best places for fantastic visitor experiences. From the history and architectural elegance of the nation’s oldest city and the pristine natural beauty of the Atlantic coast to the coveted golf courses at Ponte Vedra Beach and the World Golf Village, exceptional experiences and outstanding service can be found at every turn.

This week, Ponte Vedra Beach will take the world stage when THE PLAYERS Championship takes place at TPC Sawgrass, March 7-12. The tournament, which is often referred to as the fifth major, takes place each year on the THE PLAYERS Stadium Course which features one of the most recognizable and challenging holes on the PGA TOUR with the Par 3, 17th, and its famous island green. The biggest names on the PGA Tour – Jon Rahm, Matt Kuchar, Jason Day, Scotti Scheffler and Rory McIlroy have descended on this luxurious seaside resort town to swing it out for the coveted title of THE 2023 PLAYERS Champion.

St. Augustine was featured on NBC's Today Show on February 15th as the first featured destination on the newsmagazine’s “Winter Escape” series. And, on March 7, Today with Hoda & Jenna featured the launch of Southern Living Magazine’s the South’s Best Awards, featuring St. Augustine as the Best Small Town in the South.
