Overview
Experience Wings of Desire (Der Himmel über Berlin, 1987), a poetic and meditative fable set in a divided Berlin, in which an angel renounces eternity to embrace human life and love. A defining work by Wim Wenders, the film blends philosophical reflection, political memory and romantic longing, drawing inspiration from the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke.
