Join Us This Fall for October Spookiness at the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum!
This fall the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum is excited to present the return of our annual Twilight Tour entitled: “The Ximenez-Fatio House Presents: Mourning and Mortality - A Century of Death.” Enjoy a guided spooky candlelight tour through our 223-year-old Historic House Museum and learn about the ways St. Augustine townsfolk of the 1800’s practiced medicine and mourning rituals from Spanish-American last rites, Victorian Spiritualism, to Afro-Caribbean practices. Learn how illnesses were treated with at-home remedies from our colonial garden and original 1798 kitchen. This is a family-friendly nighttime activity for anyone looking to get into the Halloween spirit!
In addition to our “Mourning and Mortality” tours, we will be offering many other Halloween activities during the month of October. On October 29th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm the museum will host kids safe Trick-or-Treating and a courtyard Harvest Festival with crafts, games, and a candy-apple bowl bar. Special professional paranormal investigations will be hosted October 8th and 22nd with our ghostly friends at A Night Among Ghosts. Check our website as more spooktacular events are added!
“Mourning and Mortality” tours will take place every Friday and Saturday during the month of October at 5:30pm, 6:30pm, and 7:30pm. Tickets are $15.00 per person. New for this year – combination daytime “Everyday Life” and “Mourning and Mortality” tour tickets can be purchased for just $20.00 per person! More information about Paranormal Investigations is available at our website. Online reservations in advance are required.
