The infamous 17th green Island Hole
Teeing off at the Slammer & Squire, World Golf Village

Test Your Swing at the World Golf Hall of Fame

Tee up to hit the famous island green from TPC Sawgrass, enter a closest-to-the-pin contest and maybe hit a hole-in-one

Each year 144 of the world’s best players converge on TPC Sawgrass’s daunting 17th hole island green during THE PLAYERS Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach with the sole goal of avoiding the water.

Now it’s your turn.

At the World Golf Hall of Fame, located 20 minutes north of St. Augustine and 30 minutes west of Ponte Vedra Beach, you get the chance to swing away at the Challenge Hole, a 132-yard island green replicated off this famed hole at TPC Sawgrass. You can enjoy some friendly competition with the Hall of Fame’s monthly closest-to-the-pin contest. You might even be skilled enough – or lucky enough – to strike a hole-in-one. Then check out your shot measurements on the Hall of Fame online leaderboard.

Need more fun? Walk on over to the Hall of Fame’s 18-hole putting course and put your skills to the test. This natural grass putting course features 18 par-2 holes. Speed, line and a steady hand all come into play as you wind your way around the course attempting to score under par.

The best part is both of these outdoor activities are included in your Hall of Fame admission. So add a little excitement to your St. Augustine vacation and swing on over to the World Golf Hall of Fame & Museum. Whether you’re a scratch handicap or you’ve never picked up a club, the World Golf Hall of Fame offers an experience for those who value history, culture and a celebration of golf’s greatest legends.

There’s plenty of other things to do at World Golf Village, whether you are a golf aficionado or not. Dine at the Murray Brother’s Caddyshack restaurant. Yes, it is owned by Bill Murray and his brothers, and the menu has fun food and plenty of beverages.

Take the kids to a movie at the IMAX Theater. With North America’s largest screen, this is a truly unique experience to catch first-run IMAX movies and documentaries.

Anchoring the World Golf Village is the Renaissance Resort, an all-inclusive resort offering plenty of amenities for families to enjoy or for a couple’s weekend.
