Spend Your Holidays on Florida’s Historic Coast

The holidays on Florida’s Historic Coast are magical. The weather in St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra Beach is mild and days are sunny. You’ll find plenty of special events and tours that will put you in the holiday mood.  The best of which is Nights of Lights, a city-wide light display that’s been named by National Geographic Traveler as one of the top light displays in the country.

From the Saturday before Thanksgiving through the end of January, more than 3 million tiny white lights glow throughout the historic districts, from the tops of the trees, across the Bridge of Lions and along the rooftops of buildings with stunning Spanish Colonial architecture.

The holidays bring along with them special events such as Candlelight Tours at the Villa Zorayda, Luminary Night at the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum, plays and chorale performances at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and local churches and the traditional Beach Blast Off that rings in the New Year.

Put some of the local museums and attractions on your holiday visit itinerary. There are plenty of things to do for $10 or less for those who are minding their budget.

If you have a family with kids of multiple ages it can be difficult to please everyone, you’ll find a special gift in these activities designed to entertain every age and interest.

Be sure to carve out some quality time for romance. A few things spring to mind such as a horse & carriage ride through the historic district, a candlelight dinner for two at any of the area’s eclectic restaurants or claim your spot for waterside dining.
