Local Flavors from the Sea Served up at the Reef Restaurant in St. Augustine

Created by award-winning Executive Chef Bob Henle, whose passion, creativity and consistency is the essence of the restaurant’s popularity.  Trained in Spain while stationed there with the US Air Force, Chef Henle has incorporated traditional Spanish flavors into a menu of primarily fish and seafood balanced with beef and poultry.  And Chef is well-known for creating seasonal specials that incorporate fresh and locally sourced ingredients.

Popular items on the The Reef’s lunch menu are the fresh catch sandwiches, fried shrimp, crab cakes, and the St. Augustine Datil Pepper Cheese Burger.  During happy hour the small plates Spanish influences are apparent with fried Manchego with a raspberry drizzle, Smoke Duck stuffed Piquillo Peppers and Saffron Mussels.

Dinners at The Reef are nothing short of superb. Favorites include the North Beach Mahi, sautéed with clams, scallop bites and wine, topped with saffron cream sauce, and the Reef’s award-winning Shrimp and Grits served with a datil pepper lime sauce.

Sunday Brunch at The Reef is an unforgettable culinary event. The all inclusive buffet features omelets and Eggs Benedict prepared to order, a carving station, crab legs, shrimp, fresh pastries and breads, waffles, fresh seasonal fruits, champagne and so much more.  There are even local musicians playing, adding to the entertaining and relaxing atmosphere.
