Get Away to Ponte Vedra Beach: An Itinerary for Couples

Ponte Vedra Beach is a quiet beach town with great dining, shopping and spas. There’s also world class golf. But if you’re a couple and are looking for things to do off the golf course and a little romance, here are our suggestions for a three-day break.
Day 1:
Welcome to the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, a AAA 5 Diamond resort with beachfront rooms just steps away from white sugar sand.
The Inn makes bikes available to guests. So bike along the shore where you’ll see gently rolling waves and plenty of birds. When you return to the resort, cool off in the luxurious pool.
Order lunch and your favorite drinks at the Surf Deck Grille. The menu offers a range of tastes from sandwiches & salads to seafood, created with sustainable ingredients.
Lace up your tennis shoes and head to the Raquet Club. Take a lesson from the on-site pro and play on one of the Inn’s 15 har tru clay courts.
Freshen up and slip into something sophisticated for fine dining at Vernon’s First Coast Kitchen and Bar, located in the Marriott Golf Resort & Spa. Vernon’s attracts foodies year round with dishes such as braised octopus, raw oysters, aged New York strip, double bone pork chops and whole roasted fish.
After dinner have a nightcap at the Bourbon Bar in the Great Room Lobby Lounge.
Complete the day back at the Inn with a moonlit beach walk.
Day 2:
Greet the new day with coffee on your private balcony. Today is a spa day. The Spa at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is the largest in Northeast Florida. In your private couples’ suite, choose from a variety of treatments including facials, massages, body treatments and more. You’ll find plenty of healthy options on the spa’s gourmet menu for lunch. In the afternoon spend the day at the secluded outdoor pool and therapy grotto.
Time for some shopping! The nearby Sawgrass Village is where you’ll find a variety of everyday and specialty items and gifts. Peruse A’Propos Boutique, Carla Shoes & Accessories, Village Jeweler, J Turner & Co, Opulence Southern Pines, Cutter & Cutter Fine Art Gallery, John Craig Clothier and Peterbrooke Chocolatier just to name a few.
Tonight dinner is casual. Pusser’s Caribbean Grill serves up unique, freshly-prepared cuisine and signature cocktails.
6:30 p.m. arrive at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall for a performance by outstanding national and international artists.
Day 3
Have breakfast at the Inn Dining Room. You must try one of the Inn’s famous cold pressed juices. Whether or not you are from the South, you’ll love the Inn’s Shrimp & Grits and Chicken & Waffles.
One last walk on the beach to look for seashells, sand dollars (in winter) and famously here…prehistoric shark teeth.
Check out of the Inn in a state of bliss and relaxation. Before you leave, book your next Ponte Vedra Beach vacation.
