Popcorn Falls at Limelight Theatre

Drake's Raid (Canceled)

Drake’s Raid commemorates the attack of the land and naval forces of Sir Francis Drake against Spanish San Agustín in 1586. The encampment takes place at the Colonial Quarter beginning Friday. Drills, demonstrations, and 16th century living history interpretations will be presented from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, at the Colonial Quarter. A battle between Spanish town’s brave defenders and the English privateers and brigands of Sir Francis Drake will be reenacted beginning at 7 p.m. The battle will commence at the Santo Domingo Redoubt near the City Gate and proceed down St. George Street, concluding at the Governor’s House Cultural Center and Museum at the Plaza de la Constitución.

Guided Exploration Hike of the GTM Research Reserve

On the second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 10 -11:30 a.m., visitors can learn about the cultural history of the Guana Peninsula as well as the natural biodiversity during a guided hike. Find out about the peninsula’s 5,000 years of human history, including how native peoples used estuarine resources, what European plantation life was like, and current efforts to learn about and save these resources. Meet at the GTM Research Reserve’s Trailhead Pavilion located west of the Guana Dam. Wear comfortable closed toe shoes. There is a $3 per vehicle parking fee. Reservations recommended.
