Parking Tips for St. Augustine's Historic District

Parking in St. Augustine's historic district can be a challenge during peak visitation times. For more information on parking in St. Augustine, please visit the City of St. Augustine website.

Year-Round Parking Information

The best place to park is the Historic Downtown Parking Facility (known as the parking garage) adjacent to the Visitors Information Center at 10 W. Castillo Drive. The parking garage is an easy walk to the Visitors Information Center and the historic district. Cost to park in the garage for the full day and evening hours is $15 per car. Cash, credit card and debit cards accepted.

Parking enforcement hours vary by location and are posted on each meter or pay station. Parking in St. Augustine is free on Sundays and holidays in city owned lots and at parking meters.

Metered/Pay Station

Parking lots and on-street metered parking are available in many areas of St. Augustine's downtown. Some areas require payment for parking with a pay station and others at the meter. The easiest way to pay for parking lots and on-street metered parking is by downloading and using the ParkStAug app from your smart phone.

In addition, pay stations owned by the City of St. Augustine take cash or credit cards or payment through the ParkStAug app. You will know it is a city parking lot or meter because it will have the City of St. Augustine seal on it. Meters accept only coins – no credit or debit cards - or payment through the ParksStAug app

Parking in these areas is enforced 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, excluding national holidays. The Castillo de San Marcos lot is enforced seven days a week, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Note that enforcement in the King Street/Cathedral Place area begins at 10 a.m. Monday-Saturday.

Free Park & Ride Shuttle

During special event and festival weekends, a free park and ride shuttle is often offered on select Saturdays.

The shuttle operates from two parking locations north of the downtown: Times for the shuttle vary.
