Overview
Celebrate Juneteenth weekend at Zora’s Sunday Supper, an intimate evening of poetry, music, live art, and family-style soul food hosted by the St. Johns Cultural Council and Zora’s Sojourn. The event honors the literary legacy of Zora Neale Hurston and the enduring traditions of Black storytelling, scholarship, and Southern cuisine. The evening features original poetry by Ebony Payne-English, live music by Aramis Stone, and live painting by St. Augustine artist Danielle Torry, whose completed work will be auctioned to benefit a beautification project for Zora’s Sojourn. Chef Kalin Anderson will serve a curated family-style menu including Green Goddess salad with local bread, Cajun BBQ Shrimp & Grits, 7-hour Pot Roast, Signature Fried Drums, collard greens with smoked turkey, black eyed pea salad, garlic herbed rice, white cheddar mac with chip crumble, and candied yam cheesecake. Tickets are $100 for communal seating or $1,000 for a table of eight. Beer and wine are included. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. 184 San Marco Ave., St. Augustine. www.eventbrite.com/e/zoras-table-a-juneteenth-sunday-supper-tickets-1987948871589
