The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center (LLMC) and the Woman’s Exchange of St. Augustine invite you to celebrate African American history in St. Augustine. Enjoy a week of interactive, educational, social, and fun activities to remember Anna Murray Douglass, wife of Fredrick Douglass, at the Cultural Center and at the historic Peña-Peck House.

There will be a collaborative exhibit located at both the LMCC and the Pena-Peck House featuring a rendition of Anna Murray’s wedding dress, designed by New York’s Cassandra Bromfield.

The dress had previously been featured at a Harlem Book Club celebration to commemorate Anna Murray Douglass and the abolitionist with a reenactment of their wedding reception after reading Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom by David Blight.

The week will culminate with a celebration of Fredrick Douglass’s birthday on the 14th and a commemoration of St. Augustine’s many great thinkers and historic moments that helped shape history as we know it. Lincolnville Museum is located at 102 M.L. King Ave., and The Peńa-Peck House is located at 143 St. George St., St. Augustine. 904-824-1191 www.Lincolnvillemuseum.org
