The St. Johns Cultural Council and St. Augustine PoetFest present “An Open Mic Celebration of Love” with City of St. Augustine’s inaugural Poet Laureate Norma Sherry.
Poets and poetry lovers will gather from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Waterworks. Poets of all skill levels are given an opportunity to share their poems with a loving and supportive audience.
Readers are invited to present poems that relate to love. Love is a battlefield. The look of love. The book of love. All you need is love. The theme is meant as a writing prompt and it is your choice if you want to follow the theme or not.
A sign-up sheet will be available at 2:30 p.m. and the open mic will start at 3 p.m. Readers will be called to the podium in the order their names appear on the list. The mic will be turned off at 4:30 p.m. to allow the last 30 minutes for a meet and greet and networking.
