During the month of March, celebrate all of the amazing accomplishments of strong, determined women. Since 1987, the United States has formally recognized March as National Women’s History Month. Every woman has a story to tell and gifts to share with the world. Share a poem about a woman who inspires you. Not only will the reading celebrate Women’s History Month, but it will also kick off National Poetry Month (April).
Poets and poetry fans with gather from 3-4:30 PM at The Waterworks Poets of all skill levels are given an opportunity to share their poems with a loving and supportive audience.
The theme is meant as a writing prompt and it is your choice if you want to follow the theme or not. Give two or three of your polished poems or share fresh ink from your notebook.
A sign-up sheet will be available at 2:30 p.m. and the open mic will start at 3 p.m. Readers will be called to the podium in the order their names appear on the list. The mic will be turned off at 4:30 p.m. to allow the last 30 minutes for a meet and greet and networking.
