What You Need To Know

Florida Living History volunteers in partnership with Fort Mose Historic State Park and the Fort Mose Historical Society present an 18th century historical interpretation from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. that focuses on harvest time and foodways in colonial Spanish Florida at Fort Mose, Florida's Fortress of Freedom. Youth activities will include tricorn hat making, cornhusk doll making, a militia drill, leather working and more. Fort Mose Historic State Park is the site of the first legally sanctioned free black settlement in the United States, established in 1738. Admission into the event is free. Admission into the museum is $2.
