Christian McBride is an eight-time GRAMMY Award winning bassist, composer, and bandleader. McBride is the Artistic Director of the historic Newport Jazz Festival, New Jersey Performing Arts center (NJPAC) and the TD James Moody Jazz Festival, and the National Jazz Museum in Harlem. Christian is also a respected educator and advocate as the Artistic Director of Jazz House KiDS, and the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Summer Sessions. In addition to consistent touring, McBride hosts NPR's “Jazz Night in America” and "The Lowdown: Conversations With Christian" on SiriusXM.

Fort Mose Historic State Park host the 2nd annual Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Series from February 10 to February 19. To honor the history and celebrate the cultural significance of Fort Mose, the Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Series will be comprised of six unforgettable performances over two weeks in February from some of the biggest names in their respective genres.
Proceeds of this series will support the construction of an on-site fort representation and development of additional interpretive resources. The original fort was destroyed during the Battle of Bloody Mose in 1740.
