What You Need To Know

In honor of Women's History Month, the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument will host a special evening event. Though St. Augustine was primarily a military city throughout its long history, it could not have survived or thrived without the ladies of the community. Meet women from St. Augustine's past, learn about the city's rich history through their unique stories, see them demonstrate the skills and crafts that helped them keep the colony alive, and even try your own hand at a craft to take home with you. This is an open house-style program. Visitors may purchase tickets for an entry time - 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m. or 8 p.m. - and be permitted to stay inside the Castillo as long as they like until the event ends at 9 p.m. The event admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 5-15 and free for youth under age 5. Reserve tickets in advance by phone or stop by the Castillo ticket booth. Tickets are limited, so advance reservations are recommended.
