What You Need To Know

Environmental Challenge Weekend, which includes Earth Day, provides educational and entertaining fun for the entire family at the Willie Galimore Center. The two-day event features a forum on Friday evening followed by a March for Science and activities on Saturday. The forum begins at 5 p.m. on Friday and will be moderated by Brian Nelson, former CNN anchor. A range of environmental topics will be discussed. Saturday’s activities begin at 9 a.m. with a March for Science, which originates at and returns to the Galimore Center and lasts about an hour. From 10 a.m.-4 p.m., there will be music by Emmett Carlisle, environmental folk singer, as well as face-painting, exhibits and artwork provided by environmental organizations and vendors from around the county. All events are free and open to the public.
