Overview
The Florida National Guard Foundation and the West Point Society of North Florida will host the 18th annual commemoration of the end of the Second Seminole War from 10:15-11:15 a.m. at the St. Augustine National Cemetery. Free and open to the public, the event includes a parade to the Dade Monument at 10:15 a.m., followed by a ceremony at 10:45 a.m. honoring those who died in the conflict. Historical reenactors in period dress will lead the procession, joined by a reproduction caisson and cannon, period musicians, a musket volley, and members of Florida Masonic Lodges commemorating their presence at the original 1842 event. 104 Marine St., St. Augustine. stevenrick@gmail.com
