AMP it Up

While you might find our beaches breathtaking, Florida’s Historic Coast is a lot more than a pretty sunrise.
There’s so much to stimulate your senses, from our culturally diverse cuisine to our historic coquina walls, you might overlook the sound of music just about everywhere you walk. But you shouldn’t.
St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra Beach have become a mecca for all kinds of musicians and performers. Local, national and international headliners make it a point to include The St. Augustine Amphitheatre, known locally as The AMP, and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall on their list of must-do venues. And while fans flock from everywhere to see these performers up close and personal in our intimate venues, there’s nothing like the Sing Out Loud Festival which takes place in September.
Now in its fifth year, Sing Out Loud is the largest free live music and benefit concert series in the U.S. And every year, it introduces hundreds of local and regional performers to thousands of new music fans. The best part is, the performances take place throughout the area, on brick-lined streets, under a majestic oak tree in a park, on boardwalks along the marshlands, at sculpture gardens and just about anywhere you can set up a makeshift stage.
Not everyone can make it to a Sing Out Loud concert, so that all can enjoy, several performers have recorded a song at one of their favorite locations on Florida’s Historic Coast. “Single Takes” is the result of those intimate performances and we’d like to share them with you. Take a listen. Then make plans to hear great music live and in person when you visit us soon. We’ll keep practicing in the meantime.
