More than 125 years of Alligator Encounters at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm

As one of Florida’s oldest roadside attractions, the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park has been entertaining folks of all ages since its founding in 1893 as a small exhibition of native reptiles.

Fast-forward a century-and-a-quarter and the Alligator Farm is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Nation’s Oldest City as well as a sought-after birthday party and summer camp locale for locals.

The St. Augustine Alligator Farm marks its 125th birthday in 2018 with a wide range of celebrations and special events, most notably the opening of a brand-new attraction, Oasis on the Nile. With a target opening of mid-March, the exhibit will encompass 8,000 square feet of the park’s seven acres and feature a large exhibit of Nile crocodiles and Egyptian artifacts.

Located on Anastasia Island, the Alligator Farm offers visitors exciting and educational opportunities to interact with crocodilians, reptiles and mammals. It’s also a treasured attraction for the area’s residents. Check out the spring and summer Zoo Camps where kids can become junior zookeepers and learn about native birds in the Florida Rookery.

The park also hosts Parent’s Night Out events, Crocodile Crossing obstacle course and zip line adventures, birthday party packages, annual Creatures of the Night trick-or-treating events, private moonlight zoofaris and an annual photo contest. There’s always some kind of fun to be had at one of St. Augustine’s oldest attractions!
