Locals Love the Variety at Limelight Theatre

The performing arts take center stage on Florida’s Historic Coast all year long. In St. Augustine you’ll find world-renowned musical artists, opera, gifted actors and others performing for visitors’ enjoyment at unique settings. The variety of venues includes lively concert halls, outdoor sites and museums, but a favorite among the locals is the Limelight Theatre.

The Limelight Theatre is popular among residents because it stages a season of amazing performances and is also the go-to place for music, community events and even instructional programs that train the next generation of stars.

For more than 25 years, the Limelight Theatre has produced over 100 different shows from classics to new works, tragedies to musical comedies. Shows are presented at the theatre’s permanent home in historic St. Augustine.

Discover Local Musicians
Another reason why Limelight is so popular is because of its “Music in the Box” concerts. On the last Sunday of the month, some of the area’s best up-and-coming musicians take the stage from 6-8 p.m. Admission is only $5, making for a budget-friendly night of entertainment.

Training the Next Big Star
Each year, children in the community learn the craft of acting by participating in Limelight’s KidzfACTory program for ages 3 to 18. After completing classes – including summer programs – these talented locals present fully staged shows.

Adults from beginners to intermediate can hone their skills at Improv and acting classes offered throughout the year.

Make It Dinner & A Show
If you are booked in the historic district at one of St. Augustine’s bed & breakfast inns, Limelight Theatre will shuttle you for free to the Raintree Restaurant next door to the Limelight so you can enjoy dinner and a show. Or you can take the free shuttle to enjoy Sunday brunch and a matinee.
