Celebrate Women on Mother’s Day at THE PLAYERS Championship

Tens of thousands of families spend Mother’s Day each year at THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Whether you are a golf player, golf fan or not, there are plenty of ways to celebrate mom throughout the PGA Tour event May 8 – 13.  THE PLAYERS supports women and families in a variety of ways. From budget friendly ticket packages, a 5K run to support breast cancer research, an Executive Women’s Day presented by Mayo Clinic and plenty of food and beverage options sure to be among Mom’s favorites.

There’s even a baby shower. On Sunday, May 6, THE PLAYERS and Birdies for the Brave® will again partner with Operation Shower to host a group baby shower for 40 military moms-to-be. Scheduled to be held from 12-2 p.m. in the Birdies for the Brave® Patriots’ Outpost, a hospitality tent reserved exclusive for the military, the event will be hosted by Jim and Tabitha Furyk, and sponsored by United Rentals. Operation Shower’s Shower-In-A-Box is full of gifts that include high-quality products for the moms and babies that have been provided by sponsors and donors.

THE PLAYERS continues to work with The DONNA Foundation, hosting THE PLAYERS DONNA 5K at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 5, to an expected, at-capacity field of 1,750 runners. THE PLAYERS DONNA 5K will kick-off tournament week as runners and walkers of all levels enjoy a 5K route through the back nine of THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, just days before the start of the tournament. Net proceeds from THE PLAYERS DONNA 5K will go to breast cancer research at Mayo Clinic and care for those living with breast cancer.  To date, THE PLAYERS DONNA 5K series has raised nearly $400,000 for The DONNA Foundation.

On Friday, May 4 at 9 a.m. Executive Women’s Day presented by Mayo Clinic will be hosted at TPC Sawgrass. Capitalizing on a successful (and sold out) Executive Women’s Day 2012- 2017, THE PLAYERS will once again host over 200 women business leaders and decision makers for an Executive Women’s Day.

Executive Women’s Day focuses on success stories from women who’ve built profitable businesses, become corporate leaders and utilized mentoring and networking to develop strong business and social relationships.  The day includes breakfast, two speaking sessions, lunch and networking session as well as an optional interactive course-tour.

And finally, on Mother’s Day Sunday, May 13, spectators and players “Pink Out” by wearing pink to honor moms, stepmoms and grandmothers.
