Parking Tips for St. Augustine's Historic District

Free Park & Ride Nights of Lights Shuttle

The City of St. Augustine will once again offer a free park and ride shuttle on the peak dates of the Nights of Lights. Starting on Light-Up! Night, November 18, the opening night of the annual holiday lighting event, the free park and ride shuttle will continue on Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving Weekend (November 24 & 25) and then every Saturday in December.
The shuttle will operate from 1 p.m.-11 p.m. from two parking locations north of the downtown: the St. Johns County Health Department, 200 San Sebastian View, and the San Marco Lot, 301 San Marco Ave.

The shuttle service will include several park and ride locations along Anastasia Blvd. on Light-Up! Night only.  The service will be available from 4 p.m.-11 p.m. from these parking locations to the east end of the Bridge of Lions:
           Anastasia Baptist Church, 1650 A1A South
           St. Augustine Amphitheatre, 1340- C A1A South
           R.B. Hunt Elementary, 125 Magnolia Dr.
Shuttle service from the island is provided by Historic Tours of America and Ripley's Red Train Tours.

Parking throughout the event is available for a fee in the St. Augustine Historic Downtown Parking Facility, located at 10 W. Castillo Drive.

Year-Round Parking Information

The best place to park is the Historic Downtown Parking Facility adjacent to the Visitor Information Center at 10 W. Castillo Drive. The parking garage is an easy walk to the Visitors Information Center and the historic district. Cost to park in the garage for the full day and evening hours is $15 per car. Cash, credit card, debit card or ParkNow cards accepted.

Metered/Pay Station

Parking lots are located throughout the downtown area, and on-street parking is available in many areas. Some areas require payment for parking with a pay station and others with meters. Pay stations accept cash, credit or debit cards (Visa or Mastercard) and ParkNow cards. Meters accept coins or ParkNow cards – no credit or debit cards. Parking in these areas is enforced 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, excluding national holidays. The Castillo de San Marcos lot is enforced seven days a week, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Note that enforcement in the King Street/Cathedral Place area begins at 10 a.m. Monday-Saturday.
