Come hear David Reed, Ph.D., Associate Curator of Mammals at the Florida Museum of Natural History on the University of Florida present the program Lice and Men: New Insights Into Human Evolution from a Lousy Perspective. Dr Reed’s talk will about his study of lice that live on humans and other primates to learn about human evolution. He will discuss how lice DNA reveals clues about our past such as when humans lost their body hair, when they began wearing clothes and whether there has been extensive contact between modern humans and our now-extinct cousins, like Neanderthals. The talk takes place at 7 p.m. at the Whitney Lab Auditorium, located at 9505 Ocean Shore Boulevard in Marineland. Admission is free. For more information, call 904-461-4000.
