The Great Escape: A Seminole Story
The Castillo de San Marcos will host a special evening program titled The Great Escape: A Seminole Story. In the fall of 1837, more than 230 Seminoles were captured and brought to the Castillo as prisoners. During their incarceration, 20 of those prisoners escaped from this fort under mysterious circumstances. Learn about the legacy of the Seminole incarceration as we explore the impact that this escape has had on history. This program is free, but it does require tickets for admission. Space is limited. Presentations will begin at 6:15 p.m., 7 p.m., and 7:45 p.m. Tickets can be reserved in advance through phone.
