What You Need To Know

While St. Augustine was primarily a military town throughout its long history, it could not have survived without the women who supported their soldiers. Join the Castillo de San Marcos staff to learn about women's roles in historic St. Augustine and see examples of wool carding, spinning, weaving, cord-making, basket-making, cooking, embroidery and more. You can even try your hand at a craft and take home the product. Groups of 50 visitors will be admitted into the Castillo at 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. The event admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 5-15 and free for youth under age 5. Reserve tickets in advance by phone or stop by the Castillo ticket booth. Tickets are limited, so advance reservations are recommended.
