St. Augustine & Ponte Vedra Beach & The Beaches

St. Augustine and the surrounding area is home to some of the best beaches in Florida — from Ponte Vedra Beach to Crescent Beach and everywhere in between.

How do I get there?

There are dozens of public beach access points along the coast, giving you easy access to St. Augustine's beaches. Public parking is available. and some beaches allow cars to drive right onto the sand. You will need a pass to drive on the beach during peak season (annual and day passes are available).

Where should I go?

From the bustling St. Augustine Beach and St. Johns County Ocean Pier, to the quieter Crescent Beach with its wildlife refuge, there's something for everyone. See more information about our 6 favorite beaches in St. Augustine (the best beaches in Florida!) here.

What can I do at the beach?

The stunning 42-mile oceanfront playground along the Atlantic coast is a beachgoer's dream, with plenty of activities to enjoy year-round. Relax in the sun, taking in the scent of salt water and the gentle ocean breeze. Fish, go shelling or hit the waves to swim, kayak, windsurf or kiteboard. It’s fun to stay on the sand, too – dolphins play in the surf, an endangered beach mouse lives in the dunes of Anastasia State Park and rare Northern right whales come here to give birth every winter.

Anything else I should know?

Please be considerate of the environment and other beachgoers. No alcohol or glass is allowed on the beaches, and all pets must be on a leash (check posted signs at each beach for other rules and regulations).
